About The Spanish Food Company

Here at The Spanish Food Company we’re specialist importers of delicious Spanish food. 

We are an Anglo-Spanish company based in Brighton, on the south coast of the UK. There we have our offices and warehouse. It's also where one of the founders, Thomas Power, has been based for the past 10 years. 

Before that he spent 10 years living in and exploring Spain during which time he developed a love for all things Hispanic. In 2000 he started a specialist travel business, also with Spanish business partners, taking people to the more beautiful parts of Spain and Latin America. 

Over the years he got to know rural Spain even better and to enjoy in particular the food. Increasingly frustrated by the lack of availability of good quality, good value Spanish food to buy in the UK he was more than somewhat comforted when a fantastic small tapas bar opened near the office, managed by Marta Velasco. 

It is now Marta who runs the Spanish side of The Spanish Food Company. Based in Madrid, it is her job to deal with our suppliers, manage the logistics and discover new products. In fact the new product thing is something we both do, in fact all of us do. It's what makes us tick. 

Spain has a fantastic history and culture of food but not much of a culture of sharing it beyond regional boundaries, let alone national borders. This means that the vibrant culture of artisan food production in Spain remains remarkably underrated.

It is our ambition to turn things around and bring the Spanish food we all deserve here to the UK. 

We are based in the North Laine of Brighton, 18 Bond Street, Brighton, BN1 1RD is the address. The entrance to the offices are at the back of the building, on Jew Street.
